HARARE – FreshCo Market launched its flagship store in Harare on Thursday, announcing its entry into the Zimbabwean market with a strategy focused on sourcing from local farmers and producers.
The new supermarket, located at Borrowdale’s Sam Levy’s Village, aims to create sustainable opportunities by giving Zimbabwean-made goods a platform alongside international products, the company said in a statement.
“FreshCo is here to serve communities, not just customers,” said Jessica Authers, a spokesperson for FreshCo Market, speaking at the launch.
“By working closely with local farmers and suppliers, we are building partnerships that uplift livelihoods while bringing fresh, quality products to Zimbabwean families.”
The company said its community-first approach is designed to stimulate local production and foster long-term growth for small businesses.
The store will be open daily from 7 AM to 7 PM, including on public holidays.
