HARARE – TN CyberTech Holdings, formerly known as EcoCash Holdings, is set to launch a suite of new digital services, including WhatsApp banking and digital Visa cards, leveraging strong growth in its digital revenue stream.
The move comes as many financial institutions in Zimbabwe and across the globe are looking to technology to streamline operations and reduce expensive overheads, however such restructuring often leads to workforce reductions.

“Innovation — one of our core Innovation, Dignity, Industry, Faith, Originality and Humility (IDIFOH) values — remains central to our success. During the period under review, we automated RTGS returns and launched new e-commerce platforms in partnership with Visa and MasterCard.
“In the coming months, we plan to roll out WhatsApp Banking, automated remittance services and digitalised Visa Card issuance,” Hazvinei Kapfunde, group chief executive officer at TN CyberTech Holdings said in a statement accompanying the reviewed abridged consolidated interim financial statements for the six months ended 31 August 2025.

As for the financials, the bank’s digital revenue surged 40% to ZWG179 million, propelled by an 89% jump in point-of-sale transactions and robust mobile banking growth.
Meanwhile, net interest income soared 235%, aided by a 32% expansion in interest-earning assets.
To build on this, the lender plans to deepen corporate partnerships in key sectors like mining and agriculture to grow its loan book.
