HARARE – Zimbabwe is enjoying adequate fuel supplies and is moving to further secure its long-term needs by upgrading a key pipeline to handle 5 billion litres per annum, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said on Tuesday.
The country has faced severe fuel shortages in recent years.
“Meanwhile, the country continues to enjoy adequate fuel supplies, benefitting from upgrading of the pipeline capacity to 3 billion litres per annum,” Mnangagwa said.
“Pipeline capacity will be further upgraded to handle 5 billion litres per annum.”
In the first nine months of 2025, the country consumed 1.01 billion litres of diesel and 513.35 million litres of petrol.
