HARARE – ZIMBABWE’S milk production increased 8% to 30.14 million litres in the first quarter of 2026, compared with 28.03 million litres in Q1 2025, official data show.
Milk processors’ intake rose 8% to 27.81 million litres in Q1 2026, up from 25.74 million litres in the same period last year. Retail milk output edged up 2% to 2.32 million litres, compared with 2.29 million litres in Q1 2025.
The southern African nation’s annual milk production has grown by an average of about 10% over the past six years, supported by policy reforms, rising private sector investment, and improved efficiencies across the dairy value chain.
