ZSE opens week with 0.35% gain

HARARE – Activities on the floor of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) started on a positive note on Monday after the market recorded 0.35% growth at the close of transactions.

Investor sentiment as measured by market breadth was positive, as 7 stocks gained against 6 that lost.

Accordingly, the mainstream ZSE All Share Index was up 0.35% to close at 111.08 points. Gains in CBZ and EcoCash propelled the Top 10 Index to close 0.88% higher at 115.63 points.

The Medium Cap Index was 0.33% lower at 109.17 points.

On the other hand, the Small Cap Index was flat at 100.00 points.

The most active stock on the exchange on Monday was Delta. The beverage maker sold 184 900 shares of its stocks worth ZiG1.68 million and was trailed by Proplastics with a turnover of 446 900 shares valued at 246 688.

During the session, investors traded 1.21 million shares worth ZiG2.4 million in 134 deals.

Investors’ wealth stood at ZiG32.48 billion.

OML ETF gained 1.3% to end at ZiG11.0000c.

Revitus REIT added 0.91% to settle at ZiG33.6551c while Tigere REIT plunged 3% to close at ZiG64.0193c.

On the VFEX, there was only one gainer. African Sun rose 1.94% to close at US$0.0420. Edgars, Innscor Africa and Simbisa lost 7.69%, 7.23% and 0.11% to finish at US$0.0180, US$0.4267 and US$0.3492 respectively.
