HARARE – ZIMBABWE’S milk production increased by 7% to 61.31 million litres in the first six months of 2026, from 52.24 million litres in the same period last year, latest data shows.
According to the Agriculture ministry’s dairy services department, milk intake by processors rose 7% to 56.61 million litres in H1 2026, from 52.77 million litres in H1 2025.

Accordingly, retail milk production was up 5%, reaching 4.7 million litres, up from 4.47 million litres in the comparable period.
This growth stems from expanding dairy herds and strategic investments across the sector, even as challenges persist.
